Brain Awareness Week

What is the "Brain Awareness Week" ?  "Semaine du cerveau" in french

Brain Awareness Week is an international event, organized simultaneously in nearly 100 countries and more than 30 cities in France. Its aim is to raise awareness among the general public of the importance of brain research. It has been organized every year in March since 1999 by the Société des Neurosciences.

It is an opportunity for many researchers, doctors and student volunteers to meet the public and share with them the advances made in neuroscience research laboratories. It also allows them to present the challenges encountered when it comes to learning more about the brain and the implications for our society.

Throughout the week, the general public is able to meet researchers. It is a spectacular event in terms of its national and international importance, the number of people involved, the public success it enjoys and the quality of its line-up. Each year, more than 35,000 people, of all ages, participate and share the enthusiasm of researchers.
