I first did a 2 years Technical Degree formation (DUT) in Nancy to work as a biomedical/biology lab technician. But I wanted to know more about the organism (specifically the brain), which led me to pursue in a 3rd year of bachelor degree in Strasbourg and a Master in Cognitive Neuroscience here as well. - What you're currently doing:
I’m currently doing a PhD in neuroscience on circadian rhythms and circadian biological clocks, in the team “Light, Vision and Brain”. I’m working on the cellular, physiological, and behavioral impacts of chronic jetlag in rodents. - What brought you to do that:
I like the fact that the body’s functions are optimized to occur at a strategic moment of the day. Although jetlag is quite common, its actual effects on the organism at different scales are not fully understood. I find this topic very attractive. - What you'd like to do after that:
I’m not sure for the moment. I’m still making my mind. I don’t want to close any door for the moment. - What brought you to invest yourself in Doctoneuro:
I met the board when I took part in the theater during my M1 and I loved the association projects. I therefore took care of the communication for one year and now I take care of administrative stuffs. - What are your projects/objectives for Doctoneuro:
Just make it works without a hitch, take care of the website (doctoneuro.unistra.fr) and help for various projects of Doctoneuro.
- Final words?
I wanted to say “supercalifragilisticexpialidocious” but the other will quote some clever quotes so, to quote Marie Curie: “I am among those who think that science has great beauty. A scientist in his laboratory is not only a technician: he is also a child placed before natural phenomena which impress him like a fairy tale.» So my advice is : As long as you keep that passionate look on science, everything will be alright ! :)

- Ton parcours scolaire : J’ai d’abord fait un DUT d’Analyses biologiques et biochimiques à Vandœuvre-lès-Nancy afin d’être technicien de laboratoire médical/de recherche. Mais souhaitant en apprendre plus sur l’organisme notamment le cerveau, j’ai poursuivi avec une L3 à Strasbourg et un Master en Neurosciences Cognitives.
- Ce que tu fais actuellement :
Je fais une thèse en Neurosciences dans le domaine des rythmes circadiens et des horloges biologiques circadiennes, dans l’équipe “Lumière, Vision et Cerveau”. J’étudie le impacts cellulaires, physiologiques et comportementaux du jetlag chronique chez le rongeur. - Ce qui t’as amené à faire ça :
J’aime l’idée que les fonctions de l’organisme sont optimisées pour se dérouler à des moments stratégiques de la journée. Bien que le jetlag soit une chose commune, les effets sur l’organisme à différentes échelles ne sont pas totalement connus. Je trouve cette thématique séduisante. - Ce que tu veux/penses faire après :
Je ne suis pas fixé pour le moment. Je me forge encore mon opinion et je ne veux pas me fermer de portes. - Ce qui t’a amené à t’investir dans Doctoneuro :
J’ai rencontré les membres du bureau lorsque j’ai pris part à la troupe de théâtre en M1 et j’ai tout de suite été intéressé par les projets et la motivation de l’association. Je me suis donc occupé du pôle communication pendant un an et maintenant je me charge de l’administratif. - Tes projets/objectifs dans Doctoneuro :
Simplement faire en sorte que tout roule comme sur des roulettes, entretenir le site web (doctoneuro.unistra.fr) et aider dans différents projets de l’association. - Le mot de la fin :
Je voulais dire « supercalifragilisticexpialidocious » mais les autres vont sûrement donner des citations savantes donc je vais tout bonnement citer cette sublime phrase de Marie Curie : « Je suis de ceux qui pensent que la science est d'une grande beauté. Un scientifique dans son laboratoire est non seulement un technicien : il est aussi un enfant placé devant des phénomènes naturels qui l'impressionnent comme des contes de fées.». Donc si j’ai un conseil à donner, ce serait : Tant que vous porterez ce regard sur la science, tout se passera bien ! :)
