Post-doctoral position in Strasbourg

Jobs

at the Inserm Unit 1114 "Pathophysiology and cognitive pathopsychology of schizophrenia"

English version below

A post-doctoral position for a young and independent researcher has opened up in the laboratory INSERM U1114 ‘Pathophysiology and cognitive pathopsychology of schizophrenia’ in Strasbourg, to work with Dr Anne Giersch (INSERM Research Director), in the framework of a project supported by FRM entitled ‘Time and self’, in collaboration with the project partners (Virginie van Wassenhove, CEA Neurospin, Paris ; Fabrice Berna, INSERM U1114, Strasbourg; Philippe Isope INCI, CNRS, Strasbourg).

Mission

This project concerns the neurobiological mechanisms sub-tending the ability to order sensory and memory signals in time, consciously and unconsciously. In the laboratory, studies focus on the impairment of these abilities in patients with schizophrenia. The aim will be to analyze fMRI data.

Environment

The researcher will benefit from the laboratory expertise in the pathophysiology of schizophrenia, especially in the sensory timing domain. Several students are already involved in this domain, providing a rich scientific environment. In addition, the researcher will benefit from the collaborations within the project, with several doctoral and post-doctoral students involved in the different sites. Finally, the postdoctoral fellow will benefit from the local links with the imaging plateform (icube).

Required skills

We will look especially for a sound experience in terms of fMRI studies, together with a strong background in experimental psychology. Programmation skills will also be a criteria, and the mastering of french language is a plus. Knowledge regarding mental pathology will be appreciated but is not required.

Duration

8 months.
Another contract can be discussed at the end of the present one, within the framework of a european project ‘VirtualTimes’ on a related topic.
Starting date : October 2019

Application

Interested students can submit their application by sending a CV with a motivation letter, a summary of the research work already accomplished, a publications list, and 2 recommendation letters (optional). Questions and applications can be sent to giersch@unistra.fr
